Chris's Surly Ghost Grappler

Chris's Surly Ghost Grappler

Well we have been known for building some rad dream builds but this one might just make the top step! Chris has been looking at building a rig that would be perfect for gravel riding, Commuting, bikepacking and taco tuesdays and I think we built the perfect bike for that. Here is the Surly Ghost Grappler! We went all in with high quality but sensible parts to make his dream build come to life.

Decked out in Paul Components the purple doesn't lack on this one.

Paul Componets Boxcar stem with Salsa Cowchipper bars wrapped in Wolftooth Components supple bar tape.

Paul Components Klampers handling the stopping power, Deity Components T-macs to keep those feet planted.

Sram APEX 1x11 drivetrain with Garbaruk Components 11-46t cassette matched to Truvativ Descendant Crank arms with AbsoluteBlack oval chainring.

Spinergy GXX-Max wheels wrapped in Teravail Sparwoods 29x2.2

Paul Components Tall and Handsome Seat post and Selle Italia boost saddle.

Pretty stoked to bring this one to life. If you see him out there getting after it please try and stay focused on the trail ahead of you and keep the rubber side down after you give him a thumbs up!

if you're looking for a custom build don't hesitate to let us help you think about building something outside of the box!

  • Thanks! We are pretty stoked on it....my theory with Purple and paul is it goes very well on anything because...well its Paul!!!
  • This is such an impressive build and very timely. I'm surrounded by bike components that are about to go on a Ghost Grappler as well. The purple goes well with the green. Thanks again for posting because I wasn't sure if the purple stem would be overkill. It's Not.
